Scanning Your Photos

For Precious Remembrances to produce a quality portrait, a good clear photo needs to be provided. This photo needs to include a full picture of the subject at least down to chest level (down to waist preferred as shown in the image below).

If you have a photo with more than 1 subject, please indicate in the special instructions on the order form which subject is the one to turn into a portrait.

All photos should be scanned at full size. However, if you are scanning a very small photo such as wallet size or similar, you will need to enlarge the image to at least a 3” x 5” or larger to get a quality portrait made. All photos must be scanned and saved in jpeg format, and at least 150 dpi. If you encounter problems or have questions on how to scan, feel free to call: 412.276.0114.
